A collaboration between Electroproject and Force Engineering has resulted in a new LSM stator, composite magnet array and unique sensorless control system. The ironless stator provides 10 to 14 kN thrust per stator meter for air cooled units depending on duty cycles or higher if water-cooling is available. The composite material magnet array drastically reduces on-vehicle weight, offering potential cost savings. The stator is available with passive cooling or forced air or water-cooled options for heavy-duty cycle operation.
